A little niggly problem, was hoping the awesome wisdom on here could point me in the direction of an easy fix :)

The back adjustment on my drivers seat seams to slip over time, every few days I start to feel like I'm leaning a bit far back (cruising though, innit :D) and need to give the adjuster a little twist.

Not the end of the world by any means but its beginning to annoy me and it seams to be getting worse. Not having ever felt the need to take a seat apart, I've got no idea how these things work, if there's something that needs tightening/replaced etc?

A new replacement is a definite no no, I'd rather prop it up with a length of 2x4 from the back of the boot than pay the main dealer price. A second hand replacement could be tricky as the ZS has the Zetec seats but with electric height adjustment...

Won't be hard to fit I don't think all the electrics are on the seats and think they just attach to the normal rails those seats, the wiring for heated seats should be there should just be a case of finding it and then adding the buttons!

Ooooh sounds tempting, might have to do a bit more reasearch. The Zetec-S gets the standard crap Zetec seats which is the one real complaint I've got about the car, heated seats would be a bonus too

I'm not aware of any common seat problems affecting the mondeo which match your description. Maybe worth a call to the main dealer to see if they're aware of anything/recalls etc.

Is if just the drivers seat that has the issue?

If you're set on keeping the car, a seat upgrade would be nice. I'm not sure if they'd fit, but the heated electric leather Recaros as fitted to the ST models are awesome! Can't see any for sale on ebay though...

Yeah should just be plug and play I would have thought. I'd wanna make sure I know the exact methodology first though for fear of getting an airbag to the face

Well I dont spend a lot of time in the passenger seat but I havent noticed any problems with the passenger side. It's odd because it seems to stop at a certain point, which might be a comfortable position for some people, but is just a wee bit too reclined for my liking (about 1/4 turn on the adjuster)

I'm probably not going to be keeping the car for a great deal longer but I'm not going to get rid immediately. My thinking was, if a dealer is going to charge me a fair whack to take my seat apart and tighten/replace something, I may as well spend a bit more on something to make life more comfortable in the mean time (heated seats in this weater :D) and will make the car more saleable in the future too

Knowing ford, a lot of stuff is straight swappable, but I do remember reading about people soldering plugs etc to change seats
