Seat cleaning?

I've just spilt quite a large amount of Lucozade on my car about 2 hours ago, I was out at the time and was in a rush so I just left it, the patch is now darker than the rest of the seat and obviously quite sticky.

Whats gonna be the best way of getting this out? It's just a normal cloth seat.

Thanks

No idea what to use but I can say, don't use fairy liquid as it will lighten the entire area as it messes the colours up!

I recently rented a Karcher carpet/ upholstery cleaner thingy from my local tool hire place. Was great - only £10 a day and got my interior like new. Took around a full day with the windows open for the car to fully dry out though.

The hire place sold me a bottle of cleaning agent, and I mixed in a little Halfords upholstery cleaner for the nice smell. :)

Heh, Vinegar if you want to smell like a chippy :p

Wetvac is the best option. You could probably even hire one at your local supermarket although it will cost £10-£20.

Vinegar is a very good cleaning agent, and i think you'd be suprised.

The only active compound in vinegar is ethanoic acid. Its the acid that potentially dissolves stains (and removes colour from fabric). If you're going to use acid, you'd be better off with citric acid (found in any number of citrus based cleaners) because at least you won't end up with a stinky vinegar smell.

But acid isn't the best solvent. You could achieve the same effect with hot water (all you're looking to do is dissolve the sugar and colourings from the Lucozade), a dry cloth (to absord the solution) and then any one of a number of upholstery cleaners from the likes of Halford.
