Hi guys, just wondering if you can give me some advice on the issue I'm having.

My 1.4 petrol Seat Ibiza went to a local garage for a service and timing belt and water pump change.

After getting the car back when I start the car and sit the car starts to judder. It's bad enough that I can feel myself moving about quite a bit, and although the car drives fine, if I'm sitting in the car at traffic lights, or just sat in the car when it's running it's extremely annoying.

So I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be wrong. I'm going to take it to the garage in the morning but having some kind of idea before I go would be useful.

Thank-you all for any help!

Just the usual lights come on and then go out again. Nothing stays on the dash. Just a bit bemused as the car was perfect before it went in and to come back like that is a bit annoying.

Thanks for your suggestions!

In that case take it back.
I'm sick to death of crappy mechanics lately.
Coming across any decent ones nowadays seems very rare.

Will be appearing first thing in the morning, explaining the situation, letting him see it and then letting him deal with it from there. Hopefully it's a quick fix. :)

I haven't paid anything yet for the work done, and I know the mechanic so I'll be making sure he itemizes the bill properly and if I believe he's charging me extra I'll take him up on it.

Timing belt not correctly installed would be my guess. If it went in fine, but came out with a funny idle after a belt change, it would be hard for them to argue anything else.

Dropped it off this morning and they took a quick look and agreed there was a problem but the computer reported no fault so they said they'd need it for most of the day so I left it with them. I called about 20 mins ago and they haven't figured out the cause yet.

Was hoping to have my car back today...
