SEAT Leon 5 Door Hatch 1.4 EcoTSI 150 FR Technology DSG

Looking at a new car for the other half, and these have caught my eye on the work scheme.

£320 a month for a 2yr deal (options are 18in wheels and the Mystery blue paint) 3yr is a bit more due to higher APR and i don't want it that long.

I understand this will be the facelift version due next month. DSG isn't much more and this is the preference.

Any thoughts? it looks very good value compared to the other options, this is includes all maintenance and insurance for me + spouse.

Thanks

Yeah will look tomorrow at front loading a bit. £10k is interest free but the rest is 17% APR so a lot is lost in interest.

Seems an odd scheme. The £10k makes sense as it's the maximum amount an employer can loan an employee without any tax liabilities. The 17% after that just seems like a money making scheme!

Can you not take out a personal loan for the remainder and pay an amount up front plus the £10k interest free loan from your employer?

Yeah it's pretty crap now. Used to be amazing until they changed it to zenith.

I was questioning the number maths as I got different, its very easy to look at just monthly.

Over 2yrs you need £750 on top for tax, tyres and service, plus £1500-£2000 insurance.

Also define better, An Audi A4 is the least interesting car in the world to drive. Plus its not a DSG

We aren't comparing equal schemes either. To have a fair comparison - I should compare it now to the work scheme with a £2300 downpayment as the monthly (and total cost) would drop a lot.

Thanks for the time of looking, you're right DSG is a lot more. Auto is the preference but would have to consider at that difference.

Anyway this thread has certainly opened by eyes to lease deals and will consider a few more options. Missus has international license and no NCB...

Isn't she required to get a UK license within a year anyway? So hopefully your second year insurance will be considerably less once she has done that.

You'd think, but then the cimputer sees you as a person who's has just started driving and it goes up another £100

Front loading the work scheme doesn't help as they raise the APR to compensate, so say if you put down £4k it ends up going to 35% APR

Shame really as the cash price of the car is £15,700.

Scheme is combination of sacrifice and deductions so the £321 is effective, (£310 with 17s)
