Hi,

Using a lighter weight than normal and performing the seated row for say 20-30mins, would this be a decent subsitute to a rowing machine? Obviously it won't give the legs a workout but I'm looking for another cardio workout on top of the running I do.

Thanks.

I may not be correct but properly rowing is more demanding and therefore a better workout because your using your legs. Your drawing blood into all of your limbs by rowing- Pushing with your legs and pulling with your arms making your heart work harder to pump enough blood round. Simpley using your arms would be a workout but probaly no where near as effective as properly rowing.

This is my theory - I welcome corrections :)

^ yep, not a great idea. Just do some rowing machine/ cross trainer/ bike work.

your using your legs.
