Daft question really .. but when overclocking I'm not so sure
the reason I ask is until today I'd never managed to get above 370 fsb with my P5B Deluxe and week 24 E6600 ... even at 1.55+ Vcore.
temps were high but nothing too bad - low 60s under load (Arctic 7 Freezer)
but today I did my normal monthly de-dust of my PC - including CPU fan (all inlets have filters but dust still gets in lol)
took the fan off the heatsink and cleaned as per normal - but when checking all the push-pins one of them I could pull up and down like it wasn't clicked in properly.
finally got it home, then re-assembled.
now didn't make much difference to my temps - circa 3C or so .. (I've had much more of a difference than this from the ambient room temp) ...
but I'm seeming to get higher overclocks at lower Vcore than before
can the 2 be linked ? IE if you have the heatsink not on quite right you need more vcore than you should ?
