Just upgraded to a 1440p monitor & a VTX R9 290, which is cooled with a Corsair H55 AIO.
It's runniing @ 1050/1300mhz & gave great performance @1080p, but feel it's going to start showing its age shortly.
What I was wondering, is it worth adding a second 290 or hanging on for new cards due next year?
Issue I have with adding a second card, is my current setup is very quiet, & adding another air cooled 290 would increase the noise quite a bit.
I know I could fit another AIO to the second one, but not sure it's worth it & I don't really have the room for another rad. I also, don't really want to do a full custom loop at the moment.
I could drop a few settings to regain my FPS, but I feel that defeats the object of having a decent monitor.
Couple of examples of my FPS.
Shadow of Mordor 1440P ultra settings - average 45-50fps
Grid Autosport 1440p ultra settings - average 55-60fps
What cards are due out in the near future that would give a nice performace increase, or should I just bite the bullet & get something now
