I've been really tempted to upgrade my GPU lately but I'm not sure if I should get another 6950 1GB (:( but I only have a 1680x1050 monitor so it shouldn't be a huge issue) which should only cost me around £80 or so or sell my 6950 and get a 7950 for around £240.

I've been playing Far Cry 3 lately and it drops to around 40-45 FPS is highly vegetated areas which bugs the hell out of me because it's really noticeable. Would a second card give me ~60FPS or is it the 1GB of memory slowing me down?

Thanks :).

Go with the 7950. You'll run out of Vram along time before the 6950s run out of steam.

my BF3 fps were dropping by 2/3 in big maps with a 6870XF because of the 1GB vram, even at 1050

The 6950's have been selling for over £100 each second hand so I would definetely sell while they making good money and buy the newer card.

Spend the money on a 120Hz monitor/mechanical keyboard/SSD instead.;)

Already have 2/3 and I couldn't care less about mechanical keyboards :p.

I've seen a couple go lately in the MM for around £80. Are those going for >£100 on eBay?

6950 with 1gb of ram ? , when did that happen ?

There were quite a few back when I got it in May 2011. Wish I paid up for the 2GB version now though :(.
