Hi all.

Not impressed at all.

I had to RMA my 8800GTS awhile ago because of corruption, slowdowns and squealing. NOW my replacement card is corrupting in games.

I've just done a fresh install of Windows and only have one game on the PC. The PC is still locking up and I'm running the 169.09 forceware drivers.

Where do I stand with regards to a refund because I don't want another card? I'm fed up.

Oh, this is with the card at stock as well btw.

Cheers!

Well can't fault BFG Support. Already had a reply. They have said I have to speak with ocUK regarding any kind of refund, so I have sent a WebNote.

I really don't want to have to try again with a 3rd card!!

I'm having that exact issue in World of Warcraft (I don't play much else tbh lately). I thought this is a driver issue?? Do I need to RMA mine too? (and my screen gets WAAAAAY worse than the pic you got there).

Before you go the RMA route, it may be worth using previous releases of the Nvidia Drivers.

If your using the newest 169.21 ( i'm assuming you are running XP ) then uninstall them and install the 169.18 realease instead. Uninstall the drivers first before installing previous ones.

Worth a bash!

Hmm...
I am in the middle of running tests on mine.
I have an 8800GT which gave me blue dots all over the screen and blacked out on occasion.
RMA the card and bought a 8800GTS and the same is happening at the moment.
I am also running Vista 64bit, latest drivers etc....
I am still investigating what the cause is as temps look ok but I cannot believe I would have got two cards that are faulty.....

Yeah I have just red in another thread here that they have a similar issue. It apparently is NOT nVidia's fault but Vista's! So I don't think people should be rushing out to RMA it just yet when it is unknown what exactly is going on

Would personally like to hear back from Firegod on some progress if any since his post was made.

Hey guys.

Tested in another rig and same problem. I've tried a lot of different forceware drivers, from the latest beta backwards. Just done a fresh install and a clean install of the 169.09 drivers. Still no joy.

BFG said I had to speak with ocUK about a refund, to which ocUK said no. lol. So now I basically am stuck and HAVE to get another card... lame!

EDIT: Oh, sorry and I'm on XP not Vista. :(

I reckon the vRAM's gone, similar issue plagued the GF6 models from LeadTek at one stage, even replacements had the same problems. Personally I don't see the use of a lifetime warranty if the product is still rubbish, I just get the impression they are trying to compensate for it.

but they offer a lifetime warranty????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you need to complain bigtime.......I would consider a legal claim if necessary

He wants a refund as far as I know, not a replacement.

Perhaps I would wait until the next driver release and see if that helps? If the problem still persists all we can do is RMA I suppose... this is a really crappy situation to be in.

Looks like I'll have to settle for a replacement now like. I think when/if I get one, I'm just going to sell it straight away. Get something else.

I had something almost the same in stalker and i think it was the drivers with my 320 as i finished the game before new drivers came out, as no other game did it and still don't.

This has happend to me twice but only in WoW. It's only happend twice but logging out then back in has fixed it. It hasn't occured in any other games yet.

This has got to be a driver issue, please god for once I hope a driver has a PROBLEM!!!

I do not want to RMA :(

coughcoughVISTAcough....

although i never had GPU driver issues, i was forced to uninstall vista and reinstall xp due to various driver conflicts.

just my tuppence worth... :)
