Hi m stats are in my sig i turned off pc last night all ok went to turn it on and noticed that the second card was showing 0% in msi afterburner. uninstalled the drivers used DDU in safe mode but still nothing also i dont see an option in CCC to enable crossfire.
The card fires up fans spin msi show the cards temps and so on but its noot using the card and amd drivers show it as disabled.

Not something I've ever come across or seen, but reinstalling Windows was a very good troubleshooting step as it rules out so many driver/software/installation problems.

As you're still having issues, let's try looking at possible causes outside of Windows. Sorry if any of these come across as patronising, just don't want to miss anything obvious.

- Are both PCI-E power cables in securely (at both ends if modular PSU)?
- Are there any options within the BIOS to disable the second PCI-E slot, or redirect some of it's lanes elsewhere?
- Have you tried resetting the BIOS to factory defaults (remembering to set AHCI to the same as now or Windows won't boot)?
- Have you tried unplugging and re-inserting the graphics card?
- Is there any dust/dirt in the PCI-E slot the GPU is in? Even a single hair blocking the wrong part of the connector can play havoc.
- Have you tried swapping your cards round - does the problem follow your GPU or does it stay with the slot?

Hopefully one of those will fix the issue, or at least give you an indication where to head to find the fix. Other than that, I've got no clue I'm afraid.

Yes mate done all of that what i have noticed is when i uninstall the graphics drivers and windows reboots when i check device manger theirs always one vga card with a yellow triangle the top one, not sure if thats normal or not.
Also msi afterburner picks both cards up shows temps for both cards and usage even though i have not disabled upls but always the second one stays 0 usage.

I have just tried to install the default standard vga driver the one with the yellow triangle and its says This device cannot start. (Code 10).

Have you tried running the card that doesn't work on its own in both slots? This would rule out if the card has failed or not.

Chances are either:
1) the card has failed and therefore Windows can't install the drivers properly
2) the slot has an issue and is not allowing proper communication with the card
3) the power supply is not providing enough power to the card for it to work correctly (although enough to run fans and the chip Afterburner communicates with)

To fix 1 and 2 either try the bad card on its own in both slots or the working card on its own in both slots, and then swap the two cards over.
To fix 3 try swapping the power connectors between the two graphics cards.

have u tried a different sli bridge between the cards..might be faulty ? that's if they still use them..i havnt seen one since my old 9200gt cards...lol

the 290s don`t need that mate yes i have tried both cards in both slots each cards works with no problems they just wont crossfire they are no way i can get the pci e slot 2 to be enabled when both cards are running.
The only way i can is to connect another monitor to the second card then it says the adapter is enabled in ccc but still no way to get it to go in crossfire there is no option to enable it i am no out of idea`s tbh.
It cant be my cpu can it thats the only thing i have changed in the last few days?

Well i have tried everything so i decided to put my i5 2500k back in turned pc on boom crossfire right away, so i put the i7 3770k back again and crossfire still working lmao what a pain in the ass this has been the last 2 days.
Do you think my i7 3770k is faulty? or just one of them things i just don`t understand what happened all i done the night before, was to turn the pc off then went to turn it on again next day and it never worked when i went to play bf4.

That is very strange. You sure you not knocked the GPU power?

I guess if the CPU was not seated correctly, there may have been a bad connection on a pin that communicated with the motherboard chip that communicated with the PCI-e bus.
Never heard of it, but I suppose it is possible seeing as a lot of functions ae moved back onto the CPU these days (memory controller, graphics chip etc).
