for gaming, i would drop the i7 2600k to the i5 2500k and maybe get an SSD with the saved cash, the rest is fine

So would this be more appropriate?

Or should I drop the additional 4gb of RAM and grab an SSD too?

Do you guys think this will be able to run new games at High, and games such as BF3 at high, (i know the min specs arent out yet, but educated guess)?

Cheers

Yeh.

Do you think bulldozer CPUs and 7xxx series GPUs be something that could fit into a max of £800 build?

Nope. You'll probably be looking at around a similar price of a top spec Bulldozer chip to a 2600k to start with, and all new GPU's are in the £500-£600 price range. Just look at the 6990 for example. It only goes 6950 -> 6970 -> 6990 and the price difference from a 6950 to a 6990 is about £400 more. You'll easily be looking at about £600 for a processor and GPU alone. If anything you'll be better of getting a 6990 then when its about another £100 cheaper.

It's still dual GPU and uses crossfire.

How does it use crossfire? It's physically a single GPU in a single PCI slot. And even then they make up for the fact that it is technically two GPU's in one unit by adding extra heatsink surface area etc.

Or should I drop the additional 4gb of RAM and grab an SSD too?

The SSD is really an independent choice. I however wouldn't bother with the Vengeance stuff as it's likely to cause space issues due to the heatsink. Go for the lower profile XMS3 stuff.

It still uses crossfire, it's just handled on the card rather than on the motherboard. So for games with poor/no multi-gpu support you'll only get half the power from your card.
