Hey,

I'm just about to buy a second hand xbox 360, its one of the new ones with the HDMI port ect.

I have got one questions and I'm sure you guys can help, so anyway if this 360 decided to brake would microsoft need a recipt from the shop so I can get it repaired. Also how do they know when your 1 year warrenty is up as I'm guessing I will not have a recipt for this. So will I be able to send it back to microsoft with out a recipt if it brakes?

Sorry if this sounds rushed I'm planning on buying in the next hour or so hopefully.

You don't need a receipt to return it to MS mate. You get 3 years warranty with them and there's a sticker on the back that says when it was made. Check the warranty sticker on it in case it's been opened which would void the warranty. Pull the face plate off and check the sticker looks pristine. Or are you getting it online?

The three year warranty only covers you for RROD though, so try and find out when it was originally purchased.

The guy has not got the receipt but I'm sure its a flacon board as it uses the 175W PSU and yes I'm getting it online. He also said that the console has not been opened/modded and he has good feedback so I think it should be ok.

Thanks for the info.

to be honest, unless its an amazing price, buy it 2nd hand from a high street game shop, as they have a 1 year warranty on all 2nd hand goods, and then any remaining MS warranty

i would never buy a second hand 360, unless i never connected to live.

you never know with a second hand machine...has it been modded and banned? if so, you're stuffed as it's the console that's banned, not the gamertag.

I'm going to get my self an arcade system for around the same price which is brand new and includes a controller ect... and use the hard drive off my old premium console.
