Second Iteration of Special Edition Drivers Incoming from AMD in November – Will Include Significant

Just under a year ago, AMD released its phenomenal ‘special edition’ Omega Drivers which introduced a plethora of new features as well as bug fixes. Just today, we have received confirmation (Via HWBattle.com) that AMD is indeed working on a brand new set of special edition drivers and will be releasing them around the same timeframe as well – that is to say, November.

Were omega drivers the ones that gave such a nice boost to the 290 series? Iirc a few of us were benching bf4 around that time, (myself on 780 or maybe sli). But i do recall 290 owners getting some very nice gains. Will be interesting to see how this set do.

Yer, there was some nice boosts with those previous Omega drivers, so hopefully the same here.

We can hope, it's not far to push, i'd be happy with parity across all games at 1080P.

I wonder if Nvidia will release a "Wonder Driver" like they did April last year to counter this ?

Erm, this is because AMD hardly release any drivers throughout the year and just roll out one big driver annually. Technically you know thats not far form the truth!

Nvidia won't need to respond, these wonder drivers will do little to nothing.

It does say it's under embargo until 05 Dec 2014. Surely that's an old slide?

They've had 12 driver releases so far this year, so more than one a month. And the first one of the those was in late March, so they've been on a rampage recently.

They usually do at least 1 a month, they're the beta drivers 'cause that's how AMD roll I guess - but team green doesn't count them for some reason... wonder why

OT: Got a nice boost on my 7970s with the Omega drivers iirc, hopefully another big release will give my Furys the performance they're capable of
