Second opinion on broken PSU/Motherboard
My girlfriend's PC didn't turn on this morning and I beleive it to be a broken PSU, but I'd just like a second opinion before I get another.
I changed the plug to the PSU to check it wasn't that, I also used the power button on the motherboard incase it was the case button that was broken. Now, the cmos clr and power button on the motherboard were lit up at this point.
Now what I've done it taken everything out and put it on a table, currently in the motherboad is the CPU and 1 stick of ram. I plugged in the 12v CPU and the 24pin and nothing. At this point I noticed the power and cmos lights weren't on, not sure why there were on earlier but not now. I unplugged it from the mobo and tried shorting it on the green and black wires, nothing.
Does that sound like a broken PSU to everyone else? Is there anything else I should try?
