Second Opinion on BSOD?

Hello all, I've just put together a new system, the spec is;

Z170A M7 Motherboard
8GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 (This is a dual kit for 16gb but just running one while trying to get to the bottom of this issue)
Intel i7 6700k

Install windows 8.1 just fine, but every boot about 30-60 seconds after getting to the desktop, BSOD and a restart, the BSOD message changes almost every time but primarily its irqlnotlessorequalthan, system service exception and the most commong one - page fault in non paged area.

my gut is telling me this is dodgy memory but memtest couldn't find any issues after a while, but i can't shake my feeling the memory is the culprit, would just love to get any second opinions?

Thanks

It could well be the memory, I had similar issues with my old i7 920 setup.

Try with only one memory module and or check the BIOS to ensure the voltage is set correct.

(What PSU are you using?)

I am using just the one DIMM currently, its a dual kit but i've tried one on its own and then the other on its own and the BSODs continue.

its a coolermaster 1000w PSU but it is showing it's age a bit now, is there any reason to suspect the PSU could be the culprit?

Have you updated the bios? There's been quite a few improvements on the memory side of things with the MSI boards.
What is your SA/IO volts?
And what is the bsod code?

I have updated the BIOS yes as I was intending to us an NVMe SM591, but in attempts to rule out components im back to an standard ssd for now.

Sorry SA/IO Volts? I haven't configured anything so everythign would be defaults but i'll provide any info that might help just not sure what those are?

I could install it but my issue is that I can only get into windows for about 30 seconds before it crashes so would probably not even get it laucnhed before the BSOD

XMP is off as I read a lot of people having issues, VC is showing as 1.240V and im just trying to find SA bear with me, appreciate your time on this by the way :)

So I have these;
CPU Core = 1.240
CPU SA = 1.048
CPU IO = 0.9
DRAM = 1.200

Sorry just to add, these are all set to Auto within the BIOS and fluctuate slightly

Can't remember if the m7 has an initial and eventual setting, if it does set the volts above to initial

What are your ram specs?? Speed, timings, rated voltage?

Have set these values now, unfortunately issue seems to persist, though the two times i tried now it just restarted without even blue screening, a step forward or a step back im not sure heh

Try with both sticks in 2&4th slot from CPU, z170 is quite sensitive to memory controller volts (SA) and the volts I gave may be a little much for 1 stick.

TBH I'd be inclined to clr cmos then just set XMP it should really boot with no problems.

For those sticks 1.15v IO and 1.2v SA should be more than enough with both installed

If it fails the above then you need to load defaults set XMP and memtest the 1st stick in every slot on the board and then do the same with the other.
