Upgrading to an AMD 3600 on an X570 board, out of the below options which would you guys recommend:

Alternative suggestions are also welcome!

Primarily for gaming, will also be upgrading to a new gpu (keeping my current one for now) when they drop, along with a ryzen 4000 at some point. In essence, I’ll be limited by other components in the immediate future, however happy to spend a reasonable amount on RAM now, so that when I do upgrade it will be of the same calibre so to speak.

My knowledge of RAM isn't great, and whilst I’ve read around the forums it would be very helpful to get a concise but thorough breakdown of which option is best.

From what I gather clock speeds takes precedence over Cas timings. so whilst the first option by 8 pack has impressive timings, in theory the second option with the 4000Mhz clock should perform better.

Additionally, I know compatibility can be an issue with certain configurations. I’ve read the 3600mhz + is not officially supported so can lead to problems. However I’ve also read the opposite, as well as manufactures claiming speeds of 4000mhz to be compatible.

So would be good to get an opinion on this!

Thanks

You run the ram 1:1 with your FCLK.

So for example lets say your 3600 can do an FCLK of 1800MHz you would run your ram at 3600MHz as any higher you get a latency penalty.

Same as with a 3600 that can go 1900MHz FCLK you would then run your ram at 3800MHz.

As for the ram well I would choose one of the 8 pack sticks for starters.

Which is better probably someone more qualified than me can answer that.

What I will say is the 3600MHz kit are already at 1.45v out of the box and the other sticks are rated for 4000MHz at 1.35v so perhaps considering you have one eye on future CPU's I might be leaning towards the 4000 sticks.

But... wait for someone else to chime in as they might have a different opinion.

See if you can find some reviews of the 4000 kit to see what they say.

Thanks for the input!

Think I'm going to go with the 3600 mhz option with CL14 as it performs the best on ryzen
