Second sound card query

I have been using my built-in sound for a pair of stereo speakers and an old PCI SB Audigy for my headset, so game sounds are separated from TeamSpeak.

Does anyone know if it is possible to do clever things with the new built-in sound and send 2 separate channels to the headset output whilst keeping 2 channels for game sounds from speakers or will I need to get a second card for my new motherboard, as it doesn't have a PCI slot?

You can do this with some motherboards. Might depend on which onboard audio codec is used though. If you have Realtek, open the audio manager and click on 'device advanced settings' in the top right corner. There should be an option to make front and rear play two different audio streams.

Thanks. It is a Realtek, so I'll give it a go, once I've built my new system.
