Second subnet for DAG

We have a lan extender to our DR site and the DR site is on the same subnet that we in the main office. I want to create a DAG. The problem is that the DAG requires the second exchange server be in a different subnet than the first exchange server.

The question how do i make the new subnet communicate with the existing subnet. I imagine i need to add an ip route on the switches so that a new gateway ip in that subnet points to the same gateway? or is it something more advanced?

It sounds like you want to create a second private network for DAG Replication traffic only on your mailbox servers?

I think I solved that now. I needed to add a static route and make sure that the replication and mapi networks were different. But the mapi having the same subnet does not seem to be a problem.

When I try to make a database copy i get an error and i am just trying to fix that.
