I have a back room with old style aluminium double glazing (read crap) in wooden frames. Which i need to replace in a couple of years when the conservatory gets swapped out below otherwise two windows that need replacing costs an extra £500 for scaffolding.

So i came across this stuff.

WHAT A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE !!!

Highly recommend and cheap, stopped all the draughts :)

I draught proofed my bathroom and kitchen windows a few weeks ago with foam strips because they are old wood frames with nice big gaps around. They also have crap glazing and I saw those in b&q but wasn't convinced they would make a difference. Will pick some up and have a go

Yeah it does work surprisingly well. If you haven't used it before, buy double the amount you will need as there is a knack to applying it neatly/effectively.

Hmm how visible is it when on? I could do with this for my lovely old, but very cold kitchen window.

I guess it depends on how close you are. I have it on a very large window that is about 2m high, and you cant tell its there.

I also have it on a bathroom window which is very visible when your doing a #1. I get asked every time when someone new comes over why I have clingfilm on my window; just because of its shine via the bathroom light.

You have about 1-2cm worth of what’s effetely double sided tape all around the edges. I cant remember if its clear or coloured, but mine is fixed to a white window frame and the ‘double sided tape’ is a slight off white colour.

It’s as discreet as it could possible be IMO.

I used this yesterday to temporarily block up the hole left by a large double glazed sliding door that was smashed during a break in at my mums place. The outer conservatory door (also smashed) was boarded up but this one is between conservatory and house so was making it extremely cold inside.

With the replacement glass not due for a couple of weeks I thought I'd try this stuff out, and it worked a treat. It's so clear that I've had to tape a cross in the middle of the "pane" so that mum doesn't try and walk through it! :D
