In this Beta Weekend event, players must return to Kingsmouth as an initiate of the Templars and investigate the myths and mysteries of the town and its surrounding areas. In addition to all the content of the previous Beta Weekend, in this event you get to meet more of the brave and resourceful holdouts in Kingsmouth to learn their stories and pursue the many new missions they have for you.

Several characters, storylines and missions have been added since the previous Beta Weekend.
You can head over to the scrapyard and talk to Edgar. Apart from his two mean dogs, Tango and Cash, Edgar hasn’t seen many friendly faces lately. Not only has the scrap he has collected over the years come alive, and risen as powerful golems, but he is also neck deep in zombies. Edgar could really use your help to rid himself of some barrels of highly flammable gasoline – and some zombies.

Over at the airport the veteran mechanic Ellis Hill is holding out against an onslaught of Draug from the sea. These corrupted and ancient creatures are getting bolder and bolder, but seem to be weary of light. Though Ellis is handy with a gun, he could really use some assistance getting the generator going again.

The enigmatic and powerful Orochi Corporation is keeping a watchful eye on the dark happenings in Kingsmouth. Two of their representatives, Ann Radcliffe and Harrison Blake, are getting quite frustrated with their orders to just observe and not intervene.

They are in need of someone with special powers to investigate what lies behind the rising darkness, but perhaps it is smart to do a little investigation into Orochi itself as well?

The mysteries of Kingsmouth are yours to unravel......

Argh, I should really check the dates thing are posted, why did somebody bump this? There is no other beta until release on the 3rd of next month!

Wrong.

Funcom today announced that the company has made a small adjustment to the release date for The Secret World. Due to market reasons, the ship date has been moved by two weeks to July 3rd, with Early Access starting June 29th. The new launch date places The Secret World in a more positive launch window which will benefit the launch of the game.

We are also excited to share with you the dates and content of the remaining Beta Weekends!

The third Beta Weekend, titled 'Hell Raised', will begin on June 15th and run until June 17th. In this Beta Weekend players will be able to experience the Illuminati and Dragon starter experiences as well as the Templar experience. Players will also get to leave Kingsmouth and venture into the massive region known as Savage Coast, where they will soon find that the very gates of hell itself have opened up! This will allow players to experience the epic 'Hell Raised' dungeon where you will have to battle the demons of hell itself!

MMORPG.com and Massively.com played through the 'Hell Raised' dungeon recently, and judging from their previews they had a hell of a good time. You can check out their impressions here.

The fourth and final Beta Weekend will begin on June 22nd and run until June 24th. This event will focus on the player vs. player experience in The Secret World, and players will get to sample both the Eldorado battlefield experience as well as the massive warzone gameplay where over a hundred players clash together in persistent battle. Here the Illuminati, the Templars and the Dragon will get to duke it out and hone their battle skills on each other before the real conflict begins when Early Access opens on June 29th.

The best way to secure your place in these Beta Weekends is to pre-order The Secret World. This grants guaranteed access to both Beta Weekends.

See you in The Secret World soon

I'm keen to try this game out but reluctant to pre order to get beta access. Anyone here played it at all? I'm finding it hard to get any decent info on the game.

Well i've registered for the key hoping it will work for the next beta weekend, been too many failed mmo's for me to just pre-purchase and hope for the best.

I have played it a bit with the guild was really good fun in a group, not sure how long it will be fun for but think it will be good for a few months at least so well worth the cost of the game.

Think this game will attract a very strong following, it may not end up being a huge following but will be one of those where there is always enough.

Can you tell me what it plays like? My only MMO experiences so far are WoW and SWTOR but the game seems to be making claims that it's got some revolutionary talent system which quite frankly I don't understand.

There are no levels and you get all abilities? I'm finding it hard to get this games "flavour" if you will.
