security clearance

For my previous job i had to be security cleared, i filled in all the paperwork etc and sent it all off. i was at the company for about a year but didnt hear anything back and now i'm trying to find out. i have been trying to contact my manager but he's not replying. my old team leader told me off the record i had the full security clearance but i want proof. Is there any way i can find out ?

also how long does it last, i heard it was 2 years but someone else said its now only one ?

i think it must be SC clearance, i had to fill in a 20ish page application detailing everything i'd done in the last 5 years for work, living, friends and family etc. apparantly i was basic cleared after a few months but was told the other clearance could take a year

its been over a year since i left there so it's expired then. Is it easier/quicker to get cleared a second time ?

No ones answered my question. where can i find out about my security clearance, when i was cleared, when it run out, what they found etc ?
