Looks like somebody tried to force a vehicle through a checkpoint. Hopefully just some batty, auld woman who pressed the wrong pedal

It would be prudent of you to read your own links before posting. The link clearly states the person responsible is male. Probably has a beard too, but that's just conjecture on my part.

tbh that tells us nothing, it could have been a humvee with stars and stripes on the top driven by a 'nam veteran they'd still shoot at it

I live really near this base and have lots of neighbours who work there.

If you wanted to pick a hard target this would be one.

Will see if I can find anything out over the next couple of days.

The base is quite large so like a lot of military ones, getting some access is pretty easy if your willing to drive through a fence or something, getting to anything worthwhile or being there long enough to do any damage would be different.
