When I tried to connect my new Motorola mobile to my laptop under Settings, Add a Phone, my neighbours Nokia 8 popped up. I was able to see his or her messages so I quickly disconnected the Nokia 8. To connect my mobile I had to download apps on my laptop and phone. Although my mobile is now connected my laptop still shows the Nokia 8 as being connected. Any ideas/advice on what to do? Thanks

If turning off bluetooth means they will loose connection with their car they probably won't be keen to do this. When they set up their Nokia could they have missed inputting passcode protection?

Think I may have the answer. I have just read that if "hotspot and tethering" is switched on on a mobile then hacking is a possibility.

That's not the problem then. The Nokia owner has either created an unsecure wifi hotspot with their mobile or have bluetooth tethering switched on or both.

egh - the bt wifi FON connections avaliable on many peoples BT routers, allow other BT customers to login use some of their bandwidth. ... you disable the mechanism if you are aware.

if their nokia phone is visible on your computer ... it maybe inadequate security on your computer too.
