To be fair there's a pretty huge difference between a BMW and a Ford, with a Lacoste Polo shirt, he paid about £45 for a small embroidered crocodile.
There's still a reputation with Lacoste clothing though.
Ok, let's try a different analgy,
Sony LCD or Samsung LCD? Nost would choose Sony as they are classed as a better brand, but underneath, they are both pretty much exactly the same, they use exactly the same panels.
Same as if i went to my local high street electrical store to buy a lcd telly, i'd completely avoid the non-branded stuff and head for the likes of Sony, Samsung, Panasonic or whatever, even though there's normally around £100/£200 price difference between them.
To be fair, £50 isn't a lot these days for a branded teeshirt, and you could spend a lot more, had he gone and spent £130 on a Christian Audigier (Ed Hardy) tee, then again, that's his choice, but it still doesn't make him a tool. I myself am a bit of a brand whore, I'll spend £90 on a pair of trainers or £70 onn a pair of jeans, or again, £40/£50 on a tee shirt because they are simply better made and better fitted. I like the discreetness of those Lacoste teeshirt, they don't shout 'look at me' like the likes of Henleys or G star etc. They are simple and well made and fitted and worth £50 imo. Just because others wouldn't go and spend £50 on one, doesn't mean anyone else shouldn't. And they certainly shouldn't be labelled a tool for doing so, surely that's a personal attack on these forums?
