security updates question

hi

i have question about windows 7 update service , i got a new pc yesterday and i uninstalled all the rubbish acer programs and trials including a ms office 2007 trial.

when i went to available windows updates it downloaded a lot of security updates for windows but also for ms office even though i just removed it ?

should i be getting office security updates even if i dont have it?

dont thinks so i uninstalled in the add/remove?

if there only security updates would it matter?

all i have is ms office power point viewer , and the security updates were called ms office 2007 security update?
