Vodafone phoned me up last night, about 8 months into an 18 month contract and offered me an extra 6 months contract in exchange for £25 bill credit. When I refused and put the phone down, I realised what I'd actually told them at the beginning.
Some lady phones me up and says "Hello Sir, I'm calling from Vodafone, can you answer me a few security questions before we proceed? What is your full name, your address, postcode & DOB". All of which I duely answered.
However, I realise now that at the time, I had no proof that she was actually from Vodafone, she could have been anyone, phoning a random number and getting them to divulge all details.
Just thought I should have been a bit more cautious really. Is there anyway to actually get *them* to prove who they are?
