SecuROM issue(s)

Evening all.

I have [possibly] two SecuROM-related issues. The first I definitely know is SecuROM-related as I've done some Googling, but for the life of me can't find a fix. The problem is that whenever I launch Crysis Warhead, a message pops up saying "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (9000)". I know the error in general is due to SecuROM conflicting with emulation software, but I don't know what the "9000" is referring to, and I gather it is this code which will tell me what software program is conflicting with SecuROM. I did have Daemon tools installed, but I got rid of it ages ago -- maybe something still lurking in the registry is enough to cause the confliction?

The second problem I have is with GTA IV/EFLC, but I'm not sure if it is SecuROM-related because the games technically work fine. Whenever I click 'Play' at the RGSC window, both games crash just before the Rockstar logo appears with "GTA IV has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem". But whenever I click 'Play (Offline)', both games will launch fine and continue to run flawlessly. GFWL even works without incident.

I tried emailing EA about my first issue, but it's been a few days and they've yet to respond. If the second issue is SecuROM-related as well, I can only assume something is conflicting with RGSC when I'm signed on.

I was in two minds about using the SecuROM removal tool, but apart from one guy on a random forum, everywhere indicates that I should uninstall the game(s) before running it. The problem is, I'd rather not have to reinstall several odd games (especially Steam games) if they won't work after using the removal tool. Clarification on this would be appreciated.

Will be grateful for any help. :)
