SED has Arrived!

Buying my exdem PW6 last year is proving the better option all the time, and not splashing out on a new HD screen that can't be made the most of for some time yet.... by the time I "need" a HD capable screen, SED should be a real option.... cool... :)
Haaa "one step behind, and ahead of the game" lol

OLED is already here (in phones) but has a limited lifespan at the moment. It is suitable for smaller displays and low power drain.

SED picture wise is just as good if not better and suitable for big displays. But will costs a bomb at the start. But should get very cheap quick (relative speaking).

SED displays as well as CRT for SD. ie very good.

PS My comments come from Avforums...not real life experience !
 
This actually looks very good indeed reading up on it, ive never heard of it before. Looks as though it has the ability to offer a CRT quality of display, but in the package of a plasma.

Superb stuff :) I still dont see that it can adjust its dot pitch though, which is a lovely feature of CRT displays.

OLED has been shown by Samsung at a few of the big tech shows @ 37" and over. It'll be here properly by 2007 apparently.
