Heya guys,
After powersurge took out not only my UPS\PowerSurge protector but my PSU,CPU,MoBo and GFX card I'm the market for some new gear.
Below are the specs Ive decided on going with, now in general I'm happy with it so this isn'y your normal what you think of my specs thread. I'm wondering if you guys see any fatal flaws \ imcompatiblity issues.
The 2nd question is and this could've gone into the cases forum, but my PC sits in my room and since I tend not to turn off my PC at night Im looking for a case thats going to be as quiet as possible while making sure the PC is well cooled (air cooling)
Last but not least I do need recommendations on NAS Drives that are 1 Large and 2 have Torrent & FTP Clients running on the UI. I use both these protocls for work and would be great. Thanks in advance

BFG 8800 GTS 512MB
Q6600 Intel Core2Duo
Asus Maximus Formula X38 DDR2 Mobo
Zalman CNPS9700-NT nVidia Tritium CPU Cooler
Thermaltake VA9003BWS Kandalf Full Tower(supposedly Quiet and when in my room Id want it to be
Crucial Ballistix RAM 4GB alltogether

Again thanks for help in advance

Swap the GTS for a GT. Ket one which is on special if you can.
Are the GTS not better performing GFX Card, this machine will be for gaming.

Don't bother with the 8500 RAM unless you are overclocking that Q6600 to hell. The cheapest PC2-6400 will do, which still leave ample room for overclocking.
I will be overclocking but not by much. Thanks Ill look into the 6400

Also, swap the cooler for a Artic Freezer 7 pro or a Turiq tower.
Looking are these quieter or whats your reason for this choice of CPU Cooler?

Beware also, the Kandalf is massive :)
Size doesnt matter :p Quietness does!

my friend has the zalman cos he liek the green glow goes with hes coolermaster case

and its a lot louder than my tuniq

Which Tunig you have?
Tower 120 LFB or
Standard 120 CPU Cooler

If you like the Kandalf then hey upto you, others will just give you other options due to personal preference/experience with each case.
Each to their own but I would like to hears peoples opinion if they have or had this and was it good at "keeping the racket down"

the antec p182 is a well cooled and insulated case for keepign the noise down. With rubber grommits to put the hard drives on making them almost silence. The turniq tower is reasonably loud if you have replaced other fans with 17-18db fans which are pritty much inordable. I have and the only fan i can hear is my turniq one. However i should have ust simply replaced it but cant be bothered now. Get a sharkoon fan for the turniq tower and you wont hear it. Id advise the sharkoon because although the noctua may be quieter it has less blades on its fan and therefore isn't as good at pushing the air through the fins, its the same for radiators on water cooled pcs.

Cool, I might have a look at that then in that case instead of the Thermaltake. Although looking at some reviews on other sites still not sure :P decissions decissions. The Turniq towers look interesting from a noise lvl perspective and to be honest I think the lasr cooler i had Zalman 9500 was the noise maker in my last machine I had the
GIGABYTE 3D Aura.
