see my phone on my home wifi network?

Hi guys,

How can I set up my phone and pc such that I can see the phone on the home network from my PC?

Obviously both devices are connected to the home wifi network as clients, but I want to be able to browse the phone from the pc over that network.

I have looked on google and can see there are some apps which possibly do this - but I don't really want a 3rd party app - I just want to be able to browse the phone like a set of folders on a mapped drive.

You need a 3rd party app for that, there's no native way to share the phone storage to the rest of the network.

You can use something like Solid Explorer and its FTP plugin to share the storage via FTP.

EDIT: Derp forgot to ask, what phone is it?

Ah shame was hoping for a standard share function. Thanks for the suggestion I'll try that app.

Its a Galaxy A3.

Edit - that app has ads unless paid for, so no go.

Anyone used AirDroid?

I use Airdroid, but you need to enter your phone's IP address into a web browser (shown in Airdroid) to access it - ie: http://192.168.0.123:8888
