We Have a network of about 24 PC's but I would like to be able at anytime to look in on about 10 of them to see what they are looking at/doing.

Has anyone got any ideas of free or commercial ideas that I could use to do this, I've currently been useing a trail version of netsupport manager which is £48 per PC but to be honest it does a lot more that what I need.

Cheers

I was going to suggest VNC but i presume the OP wants to view lots of screens at once without the faff of tiling VNC windows...?

What's the reason for wanting to see what they are doing? Depending on the purpose, it may be that looking in on the screen may be less valuable than, say, system / network logging...

Monitor & Record Remote Screens

Impero allows you to watch all computer screens live from your own computer. You can discretely monitor what is happening live and record remote screens for later review.
Recording the remote screens can be useful to prove misbehaviour or good work and can be replayed using any computer.

Choose from Live images or Still thumbnails. The total Thumbnail images viewable at any given time is dependant on your screen resolution.

Linux + window manager with virtual desktops. Remote in using VNC / RDP and put each one on a virtual desktop.

FVWM is renowned for it's virtual desktop handling.

OR you could use COMPIZ for the thumbnailing (the function to scale the window down, but still leave it functional is awesome and something that I've wanted for years and never seen) and is possibly ideal for you. And eneral ease of window manipulation with a mouse only.
