Hi all, its been a long while but here goes.
I need to find a new GPU for my old gaming/multimedia PC which has lain dormant for a very long time. Spec as far as I remember is:
Asus A8n motherboard
Nvidia 7950gx2
2 gig ram
Dont remember the CPU
PSU still functions but can't recall the details
1TB storage
Windows XP pro
It was a good spec and a good machine for a couple of years, but I realise now a lot has moved on in 9 years!
I am looking at the GeForce GT610 for a replacement as I would like a cheap investment to get it going again before I save up for a complete rebuild.
Would this card function on the limited information I have given?
Are there any issues with the antiquated OS?
Also thinking of the Direct X version and OpenGL which may be an issue with the OS.
As far as I can remember it should still have Rome Total War, GRAW and COD:UO as well as video editing/photoshop etc installed as that was how I wasted my time then!
