Seem like a good deal?

These are the kind of specs that I have been looking for, the 2GB RAM isn't a worry since I have a spare 2GB stick which works with this laptop and I don't need a huge HDD.

So does this deal seem like a good one for its specs?

MSI CR620 Laptop

Intel Core i5-460M 2.53GHz
2GB RAM
250GB HDD
15.6" HD TFT
Intel GMA HD
Windows 7 Home Premium

£454.98

are you kidding me, thats almost the price i'm going to be spending building my rig, and my rig is gonna be powerful enough to run top release games and more on.

Id never buy a near £500 laptop without a proper graphics chip, even if its quite lowly.

I hate intel HD graphics.

For instamce i just paid £474 for a Samsung P480, sure its core i3 and not i5, but has an nvidia 330GT 1GB graphics chip...

Some poeple say they dont play games etc but still, the GPU does decoding of movies, flash HD and numerous useful things...

not forgetting run upto date opperating systems which are in light of needing greater performance from graphics

Brilliant contribution!

Can you give us some details on the parts that you'll be putting into your laptop that can play those games at this price?

Don't be silly, a graphics card to play "top release" games will cost this much. This is also a laptop forum, so I don't know if your trolling will fit in here.

ok ok, add another 250-300 ontop for basic rig with half decent stuff, that laptop was 500 and for a basic i7 rig i've priced a build upto 750

You've put together a decent i7 laptop with a good graphics card for £750? Send me the links please!

Oh, wait, you're talking about a deskop. This is the laptop forum, so you're either trolling or just being generally unhelpful.

I don't know why some people bother lol! Obvious troll is obvious.

For around 500 a couple of my friends have purchased dell laptops with i3 chips and a 5650M gpu which manage to run most games ok. One of them even got a i5 in his but you might have to look in the dell outlet section to get the bargains.

Lol at this :D not the OP just the comparison on laptops and pc gaming rigs.

Laptops are generally bought for portability, with light gaming, so the assumption of constant gaming or top release gaming is slightly stupid, if it bothers you so much, put a thread in hardware :) this is for laptops/netbooks/tablet so ;)

and yes, you could most certainly getm a decent gaming rig for £500-700, but i bet that doesnt fit in your bag, :)

however overall it is a nice spec laptop, but bits and bobs could be found better if you look hard enough, i bought my netbook just after christmas, and forgot about the new AMD mobile chips coming out, fusion etc, so i was slightly gutted :(

Theres only 1 problem in that Windows will likely be 32-bit due to having only 2Gb of RAM. It's only a minor nuisance though.
