As the title suggests my new build has a habbit of locking up during gaming (frozen once in Crysis, twice in GTR2 and thrice in the LFS demo).

The pixels scramble and a section of sound loops over and over. I've had a look at the causes today, tried GPU overclocked, underclocked standard clocked, increased fan speeds ect. All with no luck. Havent tried older CCC drivers, anyone got any?

As with the GPU i have also taken the same steps with the CPU and Reinstalled a the mobo drivers. Ive checked temps and run P95 for four hours (when @ 3.8ghz temps hit 45 deg during those four hours :D).

I've only Run windows memory diagnostic tool so far (no errors), might try memtest later.

Can't imagine it being the PSU or Hard disk...

Finally on one occasion i had an IQRL error. Didn't have tiem to not it all down but it mentioned USB???

Any help/ideas???

What do you have in your usb ports?

Sounds like it could be a RAM problem.

Have you got a second PCIe port?

Have you got a second PCIe port?

Just my wheel (G25) and Mouse and Keyboard

Only using the PCIe for GFX.

Have you tried disabling powerplay? That might help

Nope, try that right now. Fingers Crossed :D

EDIT: Apparently Sapphires HD4870 requires a BIOS update...

EDIT II: ATi Winflash reports a P/N mismatch. Even though the no. on the box and BIOS version all match Sapphires requirements?? Any ideas??
