Does anyone else have very fond memories of the Dreamcast? Or are my memories rose tinted?

I seemed to be the only one that had one in my area and was devastated when someone sold it. Its the only console I've let someone use and devastated.

I wasn't massively into consoles but as I'd had a meagadrive as a kid I did buy a dreamcast and a few games, didn't use it much, it is still in my old bedroom at my parent's house - I did like the demo of toy commander, might try and get a full copy of that game at some point.

I quite liked the GTA games on the PC and when GTA:SA came out I bought a PS2, purely because of it. For similar reasons I later bought a PS3, I've avoided getting a PS4 so far but might well do so for RDR2, or will just get the new PS5 when it comes out - especially if GTA6 is released around the same time.

Eh? You mean someone stole it and flogged it to someone else? What? Why did you not just demand they buy you a new one?

I was always one of those people that kept every console / game I ever owned. Ps1 - 4 Segas etc. My brother moved into a flat when I was about 12 and said he could use it until he got his own and sold it for 30 quid. Had about 30 games and all the add ons. I asked for it back and he said he didn't know where it was. Held it against him ever since.

I had one back in 2001. Sold it for peanuts for an OG Xbox.
I received one for Christmas 2017 from my brothers. There is a large modding community and new games are still being released! 99% of them play CD-Rs too.

Oh really? I'll look into that. Do you know of best place to look at the kidding community?

I loved the Dreamcast, I bought one second hand when It had been out for 6 months or so. I was really impressed with how clear everything looked (I was used to my N64). Fav games were Soul Calibur 2, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia and Virtua Tennis.

I remember getting Chu Chu Rocket in the post for free too. It was such an awesome console and you definitely don't have rose tinted glasses.

Also what do you mean someone sold your Dreamcast!?

I remember the graphics being mind blowing at the time for me.

My older brother moved into a house and I let him use it until he got a console himself. When I asked for it back it turned out he sold it for 30 quid. It had 40 games etc.

I've never sold any of my consoles or games so that's probably why I miss it so much.

Why didn't you just get him to buy you a new one or get him to reimburse you the amount you spent on it?

Let's just say he's a bit of a black sheep of the family. No matter the amount of times I asked for the money etc he said no but lesson learned to trust him.

I have a 137 strong game collection for the Dreamcast... it's my favorite by far!

It's definitely still my favourite! Great amount you've got.

Oh well you can buy them for £40 quid all day long... But expect to pay £120-150 for a GDEmu or USB-GDROM mod drive and £150 for DCHMI mod chip if you really get into it :D Not to mention £20 to replace the godforsaken fan it has.

Yeah definitely! I'm excited.

Was such a great machine, Soul Calibur and Crazy Taxi were the two most played games in my collection, I bought up a load of games from eBay when it was dying off and there was little interest.

Finally collected mine from my folks loft a few months ago, not tried it out to see all working but keeping fingers crossed, think my kids might get a kick out of Sega Bass Fishing complete with the rod... :)

Crazy taxi was unreal! Hope they enjoy it.

Yes, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Shuffle, Phantasy Star online, Jet Set Radio, Virtua Cop 2 and Skies of Arcadia.

Sonic adventure was my favourite and jet set was good but I always got stuck on it. It was a bit of a love hate relationship with that one.
