Anyone still play on theirs? It was my first console in the late 1980's and i still love it. As i've grown up i've started building up a collection as you can see in the pictures below.

The console and accessories pictured are the ones i use. Not pictured I also have a mint boxed Sega Master System Plus console package which is safely in storage.

You can see that i have some very rare games such as Phantasy Star, Ultima IV and Golden Axe Warrior which fetch some very high prices on e-bay.

Coming soon i'll have 2 rapid fire units and yet more games including Rainbow Islands and Zillion.

Am i the only one with this crazy obsession with the SMS?!

I'd say you're nuts, but not for having an obession with the SMS ;)

Nice collection, didn't know you had all that! I know you've got loads of dreamcast stuff though. My first console was the Megadrive :/

Well i've sold a lot of my Dreamcast stuff to fund new Master System purchases!

I had one. It was crap but I didnt realise it.

A few years ago came the crushing realisation that my parents having bought me a Master system in 1992 was like them having bought me a PS1 in 2002 :(

Well i had mine in 1987 when it was top dog! It was quickly forgotten (at the time) when i got my nice new shiny 16bit Mega Drive..

Forgot to mention that i have 2 Master System 2 consoles also!

What i'd love though are the 3D Glasses. The are super rare and even if you did pick them up in working condition the games cost a small fortune. Out Run 3D for example usually sells for £80+ on the bay.

Thats possibly the most awesome collection of master system stuff ive ever seen! Duno if it wasnt pictured but you need zillion1 its so much better than the second one. Still nicely done!

Cheers.Yeah, as i said in my first post i'm waiting on Zillion and Rainbow Islands being delivered. Should be with me next week!:D

Sold my Master System II when I bought a PS1 and immediately regretted it. :(

Made up for it recently though. :p

Just got to rebuy all those games I still miss and I'm set. :)

Can i ask how are you connecting the console to your display in this picture?

My little brother got a master system about 19 years ago and i used to love playing a game called Bomber Raid which i must have played for hours trying to complete it, which i did in the end. Also love r-type. Was alex kid in miracle world the game were if you punched some bricks a ghost would come out and chase you?

Yes. Also you got to play stone paper scissors with enemies!

I think mine is up in my parents' loft. Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap was epic. I loved that game.

Yep, probably my favourite game for the MS. Just a really good adventure game and was awesome when you changed into different creatures that could access parts of the game that others couldn't!

For instance in the background on this second screenshot is an upside down boat. Much later in the game when you turn into the fish you get to swim under water in the wreck!

All my games are in the loft though i seem to remember my power pack is dead. If i remember right the my mega drive one worked on the MS too.

Every so often im tempted to go find it and boot it up (have loads of games) but i don't want to ruin childhood memory's.

Did anyone play Lord of the Sword? was a game i was given (not one i would ever have bought) but actually it was really good. Remember playing for days on end with a mate.

For other random periferals that i had was the sports pad. Which was basically a trackball on a block with buttons on it. Useless for sports games but absolutely amazing for top down plane games. So much control.

Here it is.

Don't fancy selling that do you?

Can I ask you guys why you choose to play the original console when you can get run an emulator on the xbox, providing you own the original roms ;), have much better gfx output like rgb scart or 480p and anti-aliasing, tonnes of other features like in game saves and get to play them on a much better joypad?

Well i have an emulator on the PC (as per the two screens i posted a few posts ago) and i have every Master System and Mega Drive rom ever made but i'm a collector of all things Master System and like owning the originals. Ask an art collector why they collect art when they can view images of the artwork on the web:)
