Selective audio to different outputs ?

Hello,
My current build is a gaming/media system, using both speakers and headphones.

I use headphones for 80% of what is on my computer but certain items like pidgin IM client I need to send to speakers so that we know when we get a message or alert.

Usually within an application there will be an option to set the audio device, it will be set to something like (default audio device), if the IM app doesnt have an option but everything else you use does, then set your speakers as the default by right clicking on the speaker icon in the bottom right, and then choose headphones in all other apps
