Just got my new computer and desk but I want to tidy up the cables behind the desk by using self adhesive cable clips and pads to tuck them away but some self adhesive seems to fall off after a while, I know 3M self adhesive pads are strong but what about cable clips?

I have two computers in my office with 2 monitors each, network printer, switch, wireless AP etc so there are a lot of wires to be had. I bought two x APC 5 port surge protectors which I fitted to the back of each desk and I also bought a pack of 5 garden hooks from wilko I think it was (£1.99 or something cheap like that), and used 2 on each desk (at each end). I will upload a pic in a min.
