You need to slap a patent on it then license it to the car manufacturers.
Until then, I'm out.
Until then, I'm out.
Ok it might be a slightly acidic, but that should help dissolve all those bugs - after all people say vinegar works well to clean your screen. My rover just runs out the only way you can tell is when you can here the motor whirring and no longer spurts out water. Also the bottle is literally a little plastic bottle (looks like a 4 pint milk bottle but smaller) which you have to manually remove to fill up.![]()
My Rover Mini has exactly the same washer bottle and I never removed it once. Just top it up using an old mineral water bottle. Fits in fine.

It's possible they topped it up with the yearly service but I've never had to put washer fluid in my Toyota in over two years of driving it, so I'm out
PS when I did have this issue in winter in my 106, the problem wasn't a lack of water but the fact my pumps/nozzles had frozen..
Mine gets topped up by the garage as part of it's annual service and I've never needed to top it up in between.
That is the exact situation i would hope this self filling system would prevent!
1) Average joe does not check fluids on a regular basis
2) most cars do not have a low washer fluid indicator
3) It always runs out when you most need it!
I dont understand why its such a bad idea? so what if it only takes 1 minute to fill it! Ive never had a problem recognizing that its raining and turning on my windscreen wipers but automatic ones are becoming the norm arent they?
Its not hard to turn my headlights on when it gets dark but automatic ones are becoming more common place!
Its not a matter of whether the washer is easy to fill up or not!
