Hey guys, I'm currently Managing all things IT at a company with around 100 employees internationally. I have no certifications to speak of, and I'd like to go about getting some, i've been told I can order whatever manuals I like (within reason of course), so, any ideas?

To get an idea of what I work with daily; I'm currently running a 25 user citrix farm which hosts a variety of applications for 6 companies, have 5 VM servers hosted using ESX 3.0.2 which are streamed using vReplicator to a Disaster Recovery server. We have 2 physical SQL servers each hosting seperate business critical applications and also a Linux server which hosts a further business critical app.

I think I'd like to pursue Citrix certification, VMWare certification and also MCITP certs based on Windows Server 2k8 (which I've not had the chance to play with as yet!), I'd also quite like to sink my teeth into some Exchange certs as well.

Can anyone recommend some good self-teaching training manuals for the above as I realise that ones from Microsoft Press etc. aren't always the best!

You can only currently get certified in VMWare by attending the course either online or in person.

I did my SQL 2005 MCTS with FirebrandTraining.com It's a bootcamp style study so not the self learn you're after :(

I would have thought the MS ones will give you a very good foundation as they'll teach you to answer it "the microsoft way".

Best of luck with your studies, sounds like you have quite a lot of products for a smallish setup, use it as much as you can and you'll soon pick up a hell of a lot.
