Currently going through some hard times with money so am looking to get rid of the Mac Pro. I really do love OSX and could not live without it.

I was thinking last night what i actually do on a computer, and i came up with;

- Music(Listening)
- Pictures
- Watching DVD's.
- Browsing Internet
- Word/Excel/Outlook etc

I dont play games anymore or use any CPU/RAM intensive apps.

Why did i buy the MacPro? - Because i am stupid with money which is why i am in a bad position.

So what do i buy? Mini or iMac? I like the iMac because its all in one but its expensive, £799. The Mini is cheap(ish) at £399 but no display. I currently use a Dell 2407. So i could sell the MacPro & Dell 2407 and get the iMac or buy the Mini and keep the 2407.

Can anyone help me with this decision?

Thanks
(sorry for long thread :( )

Don't be so hard on yourself mate, the Mac Pro is too tempting. :D

I think the iMac would be the best bet. It's easily the better looking of the two, all in one (takes up less space although a Mini is tiny) and the iMac is more powerful.

Don't let your Mac Pro go for too little!

I have tried to sell the MacPro here but nobody is interested. Dont really want to head over to the bay(is this allowed to say here?) .

So the iMac is an extra £400 smackers, what do i get extra for that, a nice screen, kb, mouse, same ram, better cpu, webcam. Hmmm its going to be tough.

The iMac is more expensive but think of it as an investment. If you can't see yourself wanting a bit more juice in the future then the Mini may be right for you.

How many places have you advertised the Mac Pro? Tried local ads and things like that? I'm sure someone would be willing to take it off your hands at that price or even a bit more.

iMac's are lovely even the 20" ones.

Cant you get student/HE discount anyway?

Or swap+money with someone with an iMac? :D
