Hiya gang

Long time mmo player here, SWG, EQ2, COH/V, GW and WoW.

Lots of people keep mentioning eve to me, and I have to say the screenies do look lovely, was a huge fan of elite and games of that ilk.

So what has eve got to offer me, im a casual gamer, not a hardcore player which was my reason for leaving wow, just want something I can pickup for a few hours here and there and have fun with, Ive heard the learning curve is quite steep, but im sure you lot could be of help :D.

So sell away....

Hello,

I too was/is an MMO addict (played most of those games listed there except WOW :D )

Eve is a different kettle of fish really and its like marmite, you will love it or hate it.

THe skill training system is unique, there is no Grinding up (except to earn money and potentially good drops)

But it is damn slow, and there is nothing you can do to speed it up so it dosnt matter how long you play for in that respect.

THings are SOOOOOOO expensive to new players, and ive only just got my 1st Battleship after a good few months scrimping and saving and training.

I could go on for hours and hours. Ive yet to really experiance the "real" game but it is really a PVP game at heart, there is only so many times you can do the same poxy mission, or mine the same asteroid.

play the demo, do the tutorial experiment with all the races speak to people.

It is a good game - you can pick it up and put it down when you like really.

If you find a good player corp (guild) they might even help you out with a few free ships and stuff.

Hang on.

Reasons not to buy.

1) Surely thats a good thing
2) It keeps on training, so i can go on holiday and my char has progressed.
4) again...bad thing?
5) + 6) - again how are these bad things?

unless you were joking then i sincerely apolgise :p

ehehehe Hes calling u a wow vet noob type, i assume :O

You can only have 1 skill on and as of yet there is no que system, (there might be one day ??)

So you can train it for a while some are short, some are a few weeks the lvl 5 ship ones for example.

so u work it out which is best, or do what i do tell a trusted mate your password and you do each others skills when you cant get on.

I will sell you eve :)

The game is awesome, great player/fan base. Great story line. Great roles to aim for like PIRATES !

The PVP for me was the best part of the game.

Seconded, even though my later characters were lolcarebear, the PvP really does get your adrenaline going like nothing I've felt before. So much so I often forgot to turn important modules ultimately resulting in my destruction.

Why does EVERYONE think they are a pirate, when all they mean is they like to pvp.

Because GUC killed everyone they could. -10 players we was for over a year then went good then back to -10 again ;)
