I've got a QX6700 @ 3.3 at the moment on a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe with 4 Gigs Geil Ram, now should i sell up and get a G0 stepping Q6600 and if so will i get more than 3.3 out of it. Also is my mobo going to hold me back ???

And also there are never any guarantees with overclocking.

3.3 i would have thought is more than enough, is that the furthest u can go then? Do u know what is holding u back?

I did more or less the same. Sold a QX6700 for £300 which got me a new Q6600 g0 and new mobo. Go for it imo.

Well would love £300 for this chip but be lucky if i get £250, was looking at the EVGA 680i board as i would like to Sli 2 x 8800GT, or is should i get another SLi board

Yeah the QX chips have taken a hit since the G0's were released but if you have a motherboard that is cable of high FSB then you dont really need the unlocked multi.

The EVGA and striker boards are the best for quads IF you intend on going SLI. Maybe wait for the 780i which is due for release VERY soon.

What is the diffrence between the 2, is it just PCi express 2 ?

Some of the 680i's, even the A1's have problems with Quads. This (imo) is down to the two different SB cores they used. Some of the A1's have the 570SB and some have the 590 SB - pure specualtion of course but I can't see any other differences between the two A1's that could account for one board being great and the other being so-so.

If I were in your shoes I would wait for the 780i which should perform on a par with the p35 boards out atm.
