Am thinking of going skylake, i successfully delided my i7-4770k back when i first got it at launch and am wondering if i could get more for the CPU as its been delided or not and actually how much the market value is for a delided 4770k??

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmmm, well i got it up to 4.5 but that was with the mobo in my sig which i think at the time was'nt know for good performance for OC's??

It would depend a lot on the voltage required for a given clockspeed. High oc of 4.6ghz+ with voltage round 1.200. Had several haswell chips, (4770k and 4790k), none great clockers tbh so they werent really worth delidding. Iirc volts per chips oc were.

4770k, 4.5ghz on 1.275v
4790k 1, 4.7ghz on 1.3100v
4790k 2, 4.7ghz on 1.300v

Id have to look at my saved Overclocked Bios settings, think i was around 1.28 - 1.29 for 4.5Ghz, but im guessing the buyer would have a completely different mobo to me so those figures arent really worth anything??

doesnt make much difference on haswell chips because they have silly vrm things on the cpu.

Yes you can sell it, value wise it will be worth less as the majority of people want a standard one. Same as modding a car. Once it's been through the halfords part bin it's worth a lot less!

I used loctite 5980 black sealant after deliding / liquid pro on my 3770k and looks factory stock.

are you suggesting dishonesty?

To OP, I am funnily enough trying to buy a 4770k/4790k because I picked up a maximum vi impact and monoblock for under £100 so I may sell my 6700k to fund my itx project

No , are you suggesting i'm dishonest ? seriously ...........

Yes. Problem? If you can honestly say that you've never ever told a lie about anything then fine, you're honest. Otherwise congrats, you're officially human, just like the rest of us ;)

Thinking of deliding my 4770k, did it make much difference to your temps? Did it allow you to push your OC further than before the delid?
