Selling a vehicle that the buyer is exporting

I have found a buyer for my FZ6 the buyer will not be present he is sending a friend who has a van to collect. I emailed him as I was under the impression he had to be present to sign the V5C he said the bike is going to be exported & his friend Tom will show me what to do.

Has anyone come across this kind of situation before?

I don’t want this chap to turn up & look a complete prat by not knowing how this kind of transaction works.

He is paying cash.

I have just got an answer from the DVLA they said:

The new keeper takes the whole V5C I then send the DVLA a letter stating the following:
Bike Reg, Make & Model
My name & address
Buyers name & address
Date of sale
Also a note stating the buyer is exporting the bike.

Simple when you know how

The money was real & the bikes going to Poland.
