Selling an old CPU - what to package it in?

Just slap it in the little plastic case that your new CPU came in, that's what I've done in the past. Then just put the usual protective wrap around it if your posting it. May be an idea to pop it in a anti static bag if you have an old HDD one lying around.

would agree, put it in one of those small plastic packs that processors come in, then go down to your local supermarket, get yourself some bubble wrap (for nothing of course) from the produce departments, give it a wrap in bubble and pop it in an envelope, will be perfectly fine. even plastic pack and padded envelope will do job great as well.

deffinetly put it in something reasonably hard, i bought a second hand cpu recently and it arrived just bubblewrapped in an envelope, it was very, very well wrapped up in bubblewrap, but i still had to spend 20 mins sorting out bent pins with a straight edge before it was ok.
