Selling games

Specifically COD:WAW.

I've noticed a few people selling this game for the PC in the MM but what's the deal with this? I thought that, once you've played it online, the game is registered to you and you can't sell it on easily as the buyer wouldn't be able to setup a new online account with the same serial?

Anyone know what the "rules" are here?

No you can setup a new account when installed. It's not registered to any person/pc.

Is this the same for COD4, so if I buy a 2nd hand copy I should be able to play it on-line with no problems at all ?
