Anybody got any experience selling gold online, we have some gold coins we would like to sell. Just wondering is it safe and if anybody has used any online buyer companies.

ive only ever bought from the likes of Atkinson Bullion and Bullion by post. I imagine you would get a slightly lower price through them but the last thing i would (especially with gold) is sell directly to people. I can imagine any discrepancy would be a headache.

What gold do you have out of curiosity?

Yeah I've seen some places that accept that accept delivery by royal mail. It's insured up to £2.5k so guess it's safe, I guess take pics of the coins with driving license next to it would be good idea before posting it.

I've got some 1oz Kruger coins I was given to by my parents when they left South Africa to move back to Europe.

I sold some jewellery that people bought me when I was 18 and 21 that was a bit shabby, and used these people

Very professional and great price for the gold.
Cool, will look into this. Did you post it or go into the office ?

1oz of gold is about £2700. So if you have several gold 1oz krugerands be careful about postage if it's only insured to £2.5k!

used them a few times, all was excellent

If it’s gold coins you are selling both Atkinsons and Bullion by post tell you exactly what they will pay you at any moment on their website, for example Atkinsons at this very moment will give you £2631.61 for. Krug. Couldn’t be easier.

are krug and `foreign` gold coins not subject to a `tax` whereas uk gold coins are not?
just curious as i heard this somewhere

Unless you're desperately in need of money, please do not sell that.
