Just wondering if anyone has had any luck or any tips with selling their macbook? I have a 2012 2nd tier MBP and I'm looking to upgrade to a retina. Just wondering if anyone have any good marketplace tips when selling their macbook, (or any expensive 2nd hand parts).

I was toying with the idea of eBay. But knowing paypal and ebay fees are quite expensive I'm thinking otherwise.

Could try Gumtree, local paper etc :)

We have a Members area used for selling, but sadly you don't meet the criteria to access it!

As above, give Gumtree a bash. No fees and once the deal is done you can't be scammed. Just use some common sense. As a general rule, I don't sell to people who tipe lyke dis just because they're usually low ballers or straight scammers. Meet somewhere you know well, nothing worse than being stuck in an unknown part of town with expensive stuff.

And this is obvious, but since a friend once did this I'll say it. FFS don't hand anyone anything if they are sitting in a car. :D

I sold a high spec 2012 MBP (non-retina) last year on Gumtree, I was cautious but went just fine. Definitely worth it for avoiding ebay fees on something that valuable.
