Selling my 360 ?

I'm thinking of selling my current premium 360 setup while it still has warranty to buy a PS3 (before anyone shouts & I cause a war :D ...)

I've always had the intention of owning both the 360 & PS3, mainly because I like games each console have. I was going to sell my 360 anyway when the Elite is released in the UK so thought I'd probably get more for it now.

So... I thought I'd grab a PS3 for now as there are a few goods deals about at the moment, I know there aren't too many games yet but I can't see the prices of these dropping too much hence might as well grab one now. Then I'll pick up an Elite as soon as they go on sale.
 
There available all over the net for £400 with HDMI cable, may be a price drop announced at E3 as it will have a large media coverage, but i dont think any price drop will happen till later in the year anyway. Import ones can be had a lot cheaper but you run the risk of having no warranty and any PS2 games you have wont play unless there US/JP versions. Also BR are not multi region, some are some aint so you will have to look around and check which will work.
 
Theres a chap selling them on that well known auction site, he is asking for £370 Buy it now, however if you make him an offer of £330 he will accept, they are brand new sealed and come with receipt.

(£15 postage iirc)

I got one off him a couple of weeks ago.
 
If you still have warrenty it's probably not a terrible idea. Of course, like pretty much all the other PS3 owners here (myself included) you will be left playing PS2 games for a while.
 
I'm looking at a UK model so the warranty is there with it (just incase)

Yeah I know the games situation isn't great at the moment.

Any hints as to when the Elite will be released in the UK?
 
Keep your 360, PS3 is kinda inactive for now. Not much to write home about as per games on the ps3....Maybe later in the year but for now please stcik to your 360.
 
ElRazur is definitely right.
My personal choice would be to keep the Xbox360 and just buy a PS3 when they drop in price around Christmas time. There will be some games out then too.

As for PS3's releases, nothing major that's exclusive is out for a long time yet, all the major releases are on both consoles as far as I know.

I'm looking to get a 360 Elite when they're released so hoping I would only be a few months without a 360. Was going to get a PS3 before Xmas anyhow just toying with the idea of cashing in on the 360 while its in warranty still...

I got a PS3 on launch and whilst I can't deny that it's a stunningly awesome machine in terms of hardware and potential, it is lacking to the Xbox360 in more than one area, most notably games.

And the current Elites in the US are no different to the Premiums in terms of hardware except HDMI which will be no different to Component or VGA.
 
I would wait for a price drop and more games to come out. The PS3 is a very nice console (it has that 'wow' factor when you take it out the packaging) but a week after purchase, you'll be wondering just what to do with it next.
 
As long as Fifa 08 & the new GTA comes out on time I'd be happy to wait for other games. I generally spend afew months on Fifa and looking forward to GTA.

How long is it until the new cpu's are in production on the 360's then?

Xbox360 version has additional content on GTA as well, something the PS3 doesn't.
 
dont think so , is there really any point in the elite here since we dont need the hdd space anyway ?

i can see it been a while till it gets here , dunno

That doesn't sound too bad if the OP can keep his 360 games for when he gets an Elite.
